So What Do You Want For ChristmasHow About One of These Amazing Engineering

At CDS most of us are engineers, as are most of you, our customers. From time to time to time we’re so amazed and delighted by new engineering achievements that we want to share them with you just in case you haven’t already seen them. Enjoy!

In October 2016, three jetpack-equipped pilots (Yves Rossy, Vincent Reffet and Fred Fugen) flew in formation with the Patrouille de France (the French Air Force aerobatic display team) in what has been described as, “an unprecedented aerial choreography.” For the technically minded they formed up with the 8 Alpha Jets and flew together at an altitude of 4,000 ft (1,200 m) and a speed of 140 knots (260 km/h).

Still want one for Christmas? We’re told that it may seem an easy task but such formation flying requires much preparation in order to reduce turbulence and consequent instability!
